Learning the Color Red

Learning Objectives: Munch Kids will learn about the color RED!

Introduction (5 minutes)

  • Explain to your Munch Kids that they will learn about a very special color. This color is the color of a tomato, strawberry, and ladybugs(just to name a few things)! “Can you guess what color it is? You’re right, it’s red!”

  • Play the The Color Red | Learning Colors for Toddlers with Lulu and Munch

Instruction/Parent Modeling (10 minutes)

  • Review the color red and see if your Munch Kid can identity the color round around their environment.

  • Go on a color adventure! You can be pirates in search of red treasures! Play pretend and use silly voices.

Guided practice (10 minutes)

  • Go exploring around your house, park or any safe environment.

  • Make this fun and engaging, when you see the color red get excited. Your Munch Kid will follow your excitement. See how many red things you can find!

  • We encourage you to praise your Munch Kid for discovering the color red around them.


  • Enrichment: Have advanced Munch Kids draw what they find using a red marker/crayon.

  • Support: Give struggling Munch Kids help as you play with them. Reassure them you are a team and together you will discover the color red!

Review (5 minutes)

  • Watch Lulu and Munch episode again and review!

  • Display Munch Kid’s work on wall.
