Learning the Color Red
Learning Objectives: Munch Kids will learn about the color RED!
Introduction (5 minutes)
Explain to your Munch Kids that they will learn about a very special color. This color is the color of a tomato, strawberry, and ladybugs(just to name a few things)! “Can you guess what color it is? You’re right, it’s red!”
Play the The Color Red | Learning Colors for Toddlers with Lulu and Munch
Instruction/Parent Modeling (10 minutes)
Review the color red and see if your Munch Kid can identity the color round around their environment.
Go on a color adventure! You can be pirates in search of red treasures! Play pretend and use silly voices.
Guided practice (10 minutes)
Go exploring around your house, park or any safe environment.
Make this fun and engaging, when you see the color red get excited. Your Munch Kid will follow your excitement. See how many red things you can find!
We encourage you to praise your Munch Kid for discovering the color red around them.
Differentiation
Enrichment: Have advanced Munch Kids draw what they find using a red marker/crayon.
Support: Give struggling Munch Kids help as you play with them. Reassure them you are a team and together you will discover the color red!
Review (5 minutes)
Watch Lulu and Munch episode again and review!
Display Munch Kid’s work on wall.
